SCLH Tennis Courts

Court Reservations, Rules & Regulations

Hours of Operation:

Courts will be open daily from dawn to 10 PM, and subject to weather and maintenance requirements. Court lights are available for night play. It is the responsibility of the residents to turn off the lights after each use.

Court Reservation - Sign up on the Chalk-Board:

Use of the courts is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  When all courts are in-use, a two-some or four-some must sign in on the waitlist side of the board with a name and arrival time. Playing priority is based on the earliest arrival sign-in time. Play is limited to 1.5 hours unless no one else is waiting.  If a court needs to be cleaned before play, sign up for that court and put "Cleaning" after your name and present clock time.  After you clean that court, erase "Cleaning" and old clock time from board and put down new clock time and start your play on that court.

Apparel:

Appropriate tennis apparel is required and upper body garments must be worn at all times. Rubber soled tennis shoes are mandatory. Hard-soled street shoes, sandals, roller blades, or footwear that marks the courts are not allowed.

Use of Courts:

All residents must have their Association Membership cards with them when using the courts. Guests must be accompanied by a resident or an adult with a valid Guest Pass Card in their possession.

Lessons or events will occasionally be scheduled to coincide or overlap with normal operating hours.

Play at Your Own Risk:

Play is authorized during the day or at night with proper lighting. If there is debris or water on the court, there are squeegees and brooms on the courts, or you can notify the Fitness Center front desk. Do not play until the debris or water has been cleaned up.

Accident Reporting:

Report any injuries to the The Fitness Desk at Orchard Creek

(916)625-4030.

POLICIES for COURT USAGE:

Prime-Time Hours:

7AM to 11:00AM

Sports Pavilion Etiquette:

If a group is using the Pavilion for a scheduled event please wait for your court at a location away from the Pavilion that will not disturb the event in progress. Access to the restrooms is open to all.

Court Etiquette:

Do not go to the court entrance more than 5 minutes prior to your start time.  Please keep noise to a respectful level while waiting, entering and leaving the courts so that other players are not disturbed.  Always take an empty court rather than bumping someone whose time has run out. Take the first available court even if it is a court you don't prefer to play on.

One person practice and all use of ball machines or backboard practice sessions are to be in non-prime time hours (after 11am.)  Do not leave your court before your time runs out to sign up again for another court, you must wait until you are bumped.  Please erase your name from the sign up board if you leave the court without being bumped.  And please, if you play after dark and no one takes your courts, turn out the lights.  And always, always close the court gate door.

USTA/SATA League Rules:

No more than 6 courts may be used for USTA or SATA league home match play per day and must start after 11AM. No more than two home matches may be scheduled at the same time of day.  Team Captains must have home match dates approved by the USTA or SATA Coordinator before confirmation with the opposing team captain.

USTA/SATA coordinators are to check the LHTG website court calendar to confirm match dates are available and contact the LHTG Board-designated Court-Use Coordinator who will enter match dates in the calendar to avoid conflicts with upcoming LHTG tournaments or other events. Info displayed will include USTA or SATA, courts to be used and start time.

USTA and SATA captains are responsible for composing and facilitating their own teams at Sun City Lincoln Hills according to USTA and/or SATA captain regulations and guidelines. The Association and the LHTG are not responsible for teams but can support with reserving courts, and Sports Pavilion facilities. All Association rules apply including Guest Policies, should a captain wish to have a nonresident player use the facilities.

Captains should post start times and court reservations one hour prior to the match time.  Captains should then notify residents playing on the reserved courts of the reserved time. If courts are available prior to the start time, the home and opponent teams can use them to warm up before the official start time.

Lincoln Hills Tennis Group will provide communications, assistance, scheduling for USTA/SATA captains and group members.  LHTG is not responsible for USTA/SATA membership.
